If there’s a song you want to recommend and praise to every other K-pop fan, how do you do it without sounding biased? In this panel Christine Miguel describes her experience with critiquing music and how you can become a more sophisticated fan.

Each year rookie groups debut left and right, month after month. Each year fan clubs and fan sites sprout up for these groups, and some grow into extensive networks while others remain humble communities for fans. These fan sites and fan clubs are often not created by the groups themselves, but by passionate fans just like you. Come to this panel to hear James’ story about his and his friends’ creation and how you can do the same for your favorite group.

Ever felt like you were the only one who is enlightened by K-pop in your school, university, or even the entire universe?! Though we know that K-pop fans are everywhere, sometimes it feels quite lonely when it seems like there’s no one else there to share your passion for K-pop. Enter the history of K-Popular at Berkeley. This workshop will reveal all the secrets behind organizational structure, leadership skill development, sustainability, event planning, and community building that Matt has accumulated in his three years at UC Berkeley. Learn how the first collegiate K-pop organization and K-pop convention came to be in less than a year!
